After high school I
worked for Lowes of Dover on a construction crew for 7 month. Next I worked for
the state of Delaware doing Maintenance work. I remained with the state of
Delaware for the next 35 years retiring in 2005. I opened a lawn care business a
few years before retirement working part time and then went full time after
retirement. Shortly after retirement from the state of Delaware I had an offer
to work as a security guard in a casual seasonal position full
time. I took them up on the offer, so 8 monthS after retirement I was working
again at the same facility I had worked in for 35 years. I worked at night
doing security then lawn care during the day, finally I turned the lawn care
business over to my son and at the present time am still working security.
I married Rebecca Montgomery
in 1976 and we have 5 children. My oldest daughter Karen is married and has a
son and a daughter due in September. Our second child Jason was married had a
daughter and then divorced, he was married again 3 weeks ago. Our 3rd is also
married but no children yet. The 4th and 5th are still living with us.
I am deeply involved in my
favorite hobby . . . Purple Martins. I spent 30 some years trying to
get a colony started. Finally last season things started working out and this
year has been a huge success!!
