I finished college [Radford College in Virginia] in 3
years rather than 4 to hurry up & get married only to find out that I
didn't want to be married, so got divorced but continued to teach. I taught
Special Ed., the slow or mentally retarded [I knew I could spell better than
most of them] & enjoyed that for a while until I started dating husband #2
who had friends with children that could do so much better than my Sp. Ed.
children so switched to 4 th grade so see what "normal" children
were like. I ended up getting all the problem children that couldn't get into
Sp Ed.
Married #2 & had the most perfect, best ever, most wonderful son, but that marriage
didn't work out either . . . his fault, of course, so continued to teach,
raise my son, & then married #3 & quit teaching. We lived in
Petersburg, Virginia, had a second home at the beach [Outer Banks of NC] my
son went to a wonderful boarding school outside of Charlottesville, Va., as
the education he was getting in the small Catholic school in Petersburg was
not very good. [He was top in his class of 30 & I think he needed a little
more competition.]
My son graduated from UNC at Chapel Hill in '01, my
husband passed away & I was now living in Greensboro, NC. I was meeting
people, playing golf, having a nice time after a while, & met husband # 4
& now live in Hilton Head Island, SC. [I keep moving further south . . .]
We travel, play golf, pretty much enjoy life but are hoping that the economy
will turn around so that everyone can enjoy a better life!
I am looking forward to seeing Dover & all the
friends that will come to the reunion!
